The hotel's location on rue de republique is perfect, just a stone's throw from place l'horloge and surrounded by lots of restaurants and boutiques. The rooms had a clear cigarette smell and were somewhat cramped for accessing suitcases, but the distinctive features were nice, and the reception staff treated us very kindly. Overall, a mixed experience with some noteworthy positives and negatives.

The staff had just finished renovating the ground and first floors and were very friendly. They even sprayed the room heavily with perfume before my entry. I found them marvellous, and the breakfast was superb. Everything was spotlessly clean, but they did hand us the room keys without checking after dinner, which was a bit concerning.

The hotel's location is incredible on rue de republique, just 20 seconds' walk from place l'horloge, which put us right in the heart of Avignon. The area is full of restaurants and boutiques, minutes away from the Palais des Papes and the castle.
