About the Hotel

49-53 Queens Road, Aberdeen, United Kingdom, AB15 4YP

Malmaison Aberdeen is the vibrant gem of Scotland's Granite City, a 4-star hotel housed in a grand pink-and-grey granite façade popular with guests and locals alike who come to dine, sip cocktails, and order drams from an impressive whisky wall.

Luxurious Suite Accommodations

Each of suites enjoy a super king bed, widescreen TV, roll top bath, dual drench shower, lounge area and beautiful countryside views. Lashings of opulent velvet in jewel tones adds colour and luxury to soft furnishings, while the hotel is enhanced with photography of Aberdeen landmarks and images of the oil industry.

Exceptional Dining Options

The Brasserie at the heart of the Malmaison Aberdeen hotel is where iconic dishes are prepared with a modern twist and served with passion and personality. Its Josper Grill swiftly cooks Donald Russell prime cuts, while breakfast includes a continental buffet and 'Hot Stuff' such as eggs Benedict and a Chez Mal full cooked breakfast.

Relaxation and Amenities

Facilities include on-site parking, gym, steam room, and a spa offering a range of treatments. Snugs in the bar, sofas next to glowing fires, and booths in the brasserie create intimate spaces for cosy groups and romantic couples, while the Whisky Snug is a cozy corner where you can sip fine whiskies from over-sized tartan armchairs.

Location and Business

Malmaison is 15 km from Aberdeen with sightseeing opportunities including sweeping Aberdeen beach, the traditional fishing village of Footdee, Old Aberdeen, its historic university, St Machar cathedral, Cruickshank Botanic Garden and Seaton Park. Rubislaw is a uniquely designed meeting room which can hold up to 30 for board meetings and up to 50 people for drinks receptions.

The hotel offers nice, clean rooms with fun amenities and a cozy bed. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. However, the noisy location near a restaurant disturbed our relaxation. The dining experience was good but with some noise concerns.

I had a great stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but they were excessively dark which made it tough for me to apply makeup. The staff was fantastic and welcoming. The location suited my needs perfectly, walkable to the city center, but the lack of lift access in my room area was inconvenient. The dining experience was top-notch, with a delicious evening meal offer available, though the breakfast was smaller than expected. Overall, a pleasant stay with a few minor drawbacks.

Rooms
8.0
My room was clean with a very comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom. Despite being very dark and not well lit, I slept well with no noise issues at all.
Service

Dining
8.0
The dining experience was first class, especially with the evening meal offer that included a meal allowance and half a bottle of house wine per couple. The full Scottish breakfast was a bit small for my liking, but the quality was top-notch.
Facilities

The hotel offered excellent facilities, including the option for an evening meal offer and pet amenities for furry friends.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The room, with its roomy space and seating area, was nicely decorated with all facilities available. However, the noise from banging and loud music till midnight was a downside. I wish they had a slightly bigger choice of draught beers, but it seems they cater more to discerning guests.

Rooms
7.0
The room was nice but too small.
Service
9.0
The staff were very knowledgeable about spirits and cocktails. They welcomed us with a friendly smile and excellent breakfast service.
Location
8.0
The hotel is about a 15-minute walk to Union Street, near Queens Cross, and the Scottish theming throughout is stunning. Service is consistently excellent even during busy periods.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was good overall, but there were some issues with missing ingredients in dishes and inconvenient meal timings.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel facilities are great, offering room service, dry cleaning, housekeeping, laundry, welcome drink, and pet amenities.

The hotel offers spacious and well-decorated rooms, albeit with initial truffle presentation concerns, leading to a good dining experience. The noise level from outside activities was noticeable but promptly solved by the Duty Manager reallocating us. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating while the location was well-suited for our visit to Aberdeen.

The service was fantastic, with honest and very helpful staff. The location was convenient for getting into town, but it could be clearer on booking. The dining options were a bit underwhelming, and the facilities were decent but need improvement.
