i am SO happy with my stay! my executive king room was clean and well kept. the staff was REALLY helpful. breakfast each morning was plentiful and delicious. the location was great, it allowed us to walk to most attractions easily.
the tv remote in my room did not work very well, it needed new batteries.

i found the hotel to be a great value. it was a short walk to the grassmarket, about ten minutes. i also used the bright bus tour (it is excellent!) instead of a taxi from waverley station using a 24-hour ticket. the staff was very friendly and helpful (i appreciated this). the breakfast offered a good selection of cereals, juices, and cooked options.
the entrance was a bit tricky to find since it's located around the back and not at the imposing front doors.

The staff was very attentive and the entire hotel maintained cleanliness. I found the building interesting. It had a history as a maternity hospital. The breakfast stood out because it was cooked to order.. a special touch that I value. I certainly plan to return, placing this hotel at the top of my list.

the location was excellent I walked easily to many attractions from the hotel. the staff was helpful securing taxis for me. my room was super clean and it had a very large comfortable bed. breakfast service was quick and efficient each morning

the front desk staff were super friendly and professional, which i appreciated. the hotel is beautiful. the rooms are comfortable. i really loved the history associated with this building.
I found that rooms' size varied quite a bit. Some were small and others were large. rooms had windows missing blinds. rooms also had the tv set far away from the bed. this felt a bit inconsistent.
