I appreciated the room upgrade. It felt special. The breakfast was prepared fresh, it did not sit under a hot plate. The staff were amazing. They were present in every area from reception to the dining room.

poor insulationroad noise
The room was a standard double room. it was nice but the poorly insulated windows made it very drafty. the road noise was also quite noticeable. the bathroom had a designer glass bowl sink, but the drain plug didn't work well and there was no overflow. I almost flooded the place when my phone rang and i left the tap on!

decent stay, some small issues

spacious roomuseful deskno heatingbreakfast delay
The room was surprisingly spacious, even with a seating area. i appreciated having a desk in the room. It was useful for my laptop. the bathroom was a good size too.
I found there was no heating. I learned it's done off a central boiler in the reception. breakfast required ordering the night before, i waited quite a while for it the next morning, about 45 minutes (which felt long).

lovely gardensfaulty keychilly bathroom
The gardens were lovely to eat out in, so I enjoyed a meal there.
The external door key failed when I returned to the hotel late at night. I was knocking on the front door and phoning before another guest let me in (I was pretty annoyed). the bathroom was very chilly, so I needed to use the electric fan heater.
