I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were well-appointed and comfortable, but I had to wait 2 hours for check-in despite the room being close to the lobby on the first floor. However, the spacious room with a fireplace and sitting area was a plus, even though the discount offered was incorrectly applied.
Rooms

The room was very spacious, equipped with a fireplace and sitting area, comfortable bedding, and a spacious bathroom.
Service
9.0
The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and gracious. They were helpful with recommendations and places to see.
Location
9.0
The location was ideal for me, right across the main downtown part of Cambria and close to the beach. It was convenient to explore nearby spots like Cambria Pines Lodge and Moonstone Beach.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was not so good, with sparse offerings. However, the home-made jams were a nice touch.
Facilities

The hotel seems to be in the process of being remodeled. The open Jacuzzi in the bedroom was interesting.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were beautifully decorated and quiet, but overlooked a gravel parking lot and had bars on the lower half of the window. The personal jacuzzi tubs were a nice touch, but the air-conditioning unit was not very effective.

The rooms were beautifully decorated and quiet, but had some drawbacks like the view of a gravel parking lot and bars on the lower half of the window. The personal jacuzzi tubs were a luxurious addition, however, the air-conditioning unit was not very efficient.
Service
6.0
The service was a bit of a hit and miss. While the staff was friendly, there were issues when we tried to enjoy a bottle of wine in a common area and were told about corkage fees. The staff seemed preoccupied and blamed outside vendors instead of ensuring our comfort.
Location
8.0
The location was great, being close to Moonstone beach and Cambria's main street. It was convenient for visiting Hearst Castle and observing elephant seals. Additionally, there were plenty of dining options nearby.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were limited at the hotel, so we opted to eat in town instead. The classic American dishes were ordered in advance, and the prices made us prefer dining outside.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel lacks some amenities like microwaves in the rooms and a continental breakfast, which impacted the overall value for money.

My stay at this hotel had its ups and downs. On the positive side, the location was convenient for exploring Cambria, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. However, the room was not initially ready for check-in, leading to a two-hour wait, though we did receive a discount as compensation. Unfortunately, the room was situated above the parking lot and garbage area, resulting in early morning noises from the garbage truck. The price was reasonable, though there were some issues with the discount application.
Rooms

The room was not ready at check-in and was above the parking lot and garbage area, leading to early morning disturbances. The discount received was not correctly applied.
Service
7.0
The staff did their best to help us get oriented to the hotel and the city, which was appreciated. The overall service, including maintenance and spa staff, was friendly and helpful.
Location
6.0
The hotel is located in a dead spot between downtown and the water, making it somewhat convenient for exploring both areas. It was close to a 2-mile walking trail by the beach, but the room felt a bit cramped around the edges.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was okay, with room service being a nice option. However, there were issues with the food arriving cold.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel facilities were out of order during my stay, which was disappointing.
