Reviews and Ratings
The hotel has a mixed personality, offering a somewhat utilitarian room experience but standing out with incredibly friendly service. The location is both central and concerning due to its surroundings. Dining is basic yet satisfying, while the facilities are worth noting.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. While the rooms offered privacy with doors that could be locked from the inside, they felt smaller than expected and nothing like the pictures on the website. On the bright side, the service was exceptional, with friendly and diligent staff creating a beautiful vibe. The location in Long Street was perfect for immersing in the energetic surroundings, though some upgrades are needed. The dining options, although accessible all day, were limited for the price paid. Overall, a stay with some highs and lows.
My stay at Freshlyground was a bit surreal and not suited for me traveling alone on business. The hotel was very well situated, with lovely decor in the rooms, but they could have been slightly cleaner. Despite that, they were cozy and comfortable.
I was pleasantly surprised by the unique theme of the rooms, providing an immersive experience akin to a horror movie set. The rooms were small but cozy, offering all the necessary comforts at an affordable price. However, the installation of old medical equipment and fake blood stained blinds might not be to everyone's taste.
The hotel has a unique theme that some may find scary, resembling an emergency room out of a horror movie. The service was exceptional, with friendly and helpful staff. However, the location on a dangerous street in the city center can be concerning.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of good and not-so-good experiences. The rooms, despite having some interesting and artistic themes, had a few cleanliness issues. The service was friendly and accommodating, offering various convenient amenities. The location was both convenient and safe, although the street in the city center raised some safety concerns. The dining options were basic but acceptable. The facilities provided were satisfactory, although there were a few drawbacks. Overall, I had a unique stay with both positive and negative aspects to consider.
The hotel is a gem in the heart of the city center, offering creatively themed rooms by local artists. The air-conditioning was a lifesaver during the hot South African summers. The service was outstanding, especially thanks to Fahim who went above and beyond to assist with everything I needed. The location was fantastic, surrounded by restaurants and convenience stores, but a bit dodgy after dark on weeknights. The dining experience was below average with limited choices but the filtered coffee and toast were satisfactory. The facilities were adequate but could use some improvements.
The hotel had a mix of great and not-so-great aspects. The location was superb for exploring the city, with convenient access to restaurants and attractions. The rooms, however, left much to be desired with a theme that felt like a scene out of a horror movie.
The hotel had a mixed experience with cozy and well-themed rooms needing a bit of maintenance for the sparkle to return. The service was excellent and very helpful, making the stay enjoyable. The location offered both the vibrant nightlife of Cape Town and access to great restaurants within walking distance. Dining was decent, with a quiet and casual atmosphere, while the facilities were satisfactory.
The hotel offers spacious rooms with a great view of the city and Cape Town scenery from the 2nd and 3rd floors. However, some rooms had small high windows and potential security concerns with easily breakable doors. The service was excellent, especially from Mannie, who went the extra mile even late at night. The location is superb during the day but can be dodgy at night, although convenient for those not seeking late-night entertainment. The dining options were limited, with basic offerings like coffee, toast, a banana, muffin, and juice. Overall, the facilities were good, but improvements could be made in certain aspects.
