Rothay Manor, with its attractive gardens and outdoor tables, offers a relaxing stay within a short walk to Ambleside town centre. The spacious rooms, including some in a modern wing, provide comfort with features such as balconies offering garden views, and bathrooms with both baths and free-standing showers. The restaurant stands out for its exceptional food, although a few guests have noted inconsistencies between the high standard of the cuisine and the bar service. Breakfast is highly rated and some guests enjoyed scones served in the afternoon, and you might find it to be good value for money.

Mixed feelings about the stay

bathroom floor hallway noise
i was expecting a bit more, to be honest. the housekeeping wasn't as spot-on as it should have been. i found a few hairs on the bathroom floor upon arrival, a small detail, but noticeable. also, the soundproofing wasn't great, i could hear noise from the hallway, which wasn't exactly relaxing.
