I found the building beautiful. it stands on one of england's prettiest streets. the rooms and beds seemed quite comfortable, clearly respecting the inn's history and tudor architecture. I really appreciated that. staff members were helpful and always pleased to share stories about the inn. i loved the fireplace bar with all its history.
The narrow, steep stairs posed a challenge. i think anyone with walking difficulties might struggle a bit here. otherwise, i loved it. It just would have been nice to have had the option of a more accessible route.

The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel offered a reserved parking space (a definite advantage). The restaurant staff also provided great service.
I noticed some pigeons outside room 2. Wire deterrents need repair to effectively prevent them from roosting there.

i stayed in a twin room. it was equipped with ample storage space and comfortable beds. breakfast included a good selection of pastries and fresh fruit. i found the staff were attentive and helpful with directions.
The soundproofing could be better. I could hear some noise from the hallway.

The promised parking was not readily available. I had to park far away. this resulted in extra expense for me. also, the upper-floor rooms had water supply issues. showering required constant temperature adjustments
