Inconsistent Service at High Price
inflexible staff disruptive room
The staff, specifically at the front desk, did not handle a payment issue well. After a long trip, they were inflexible about a deposit and somewhat disrespectful. It was an odd experience. My room was also oddly situated, looking directly into an office building. I couldn't open the curtains without feeling like I was in a meeting with the office workers. It was disruptive. I did not expect that.

balanced stay downtown
excellent location chilled base central air conditioning difficult car access
the location was excellent. the design throughout the building was notable (i especially liked the restaurant). i found the hotel to be a chilled base for exploring.
the room lacked central air conditioning. i expected more than a fan for the price (it was quite warm). the hotel is in a somewhat strange alley, so car access proved tricky.
