The Angel Posting House & Livery often impresses with its spacious rooms, some even featuring a sitting area, alongside practical amenities like tea and coffee making facilities and large TVs. Its central location on Guildford's High Street proves convenient for exploring shops and attractions, and being near the train station is a plus for many. While some guests occasionally experienced noise due to the proximity to nearby venues, the hotel's historical charm, sometimes with antique touches, and the provision for secure bicycle storage often contribute to a pleasant stay.

historical charm, superb location

ideal locationrenovated spacelovely beddistinct living room
i found the location ideal, placing me directly on the high street for convenient exploration. the room (a recently renovated space) offered privacy despite the activity outside. accessing it involved a bit of a walk through the building (lots of narrow stairs), but it was manageable. the room itself proved fantastic, with a lovely bed. a distinct living room area perfect for relaxation.
the toilet made a consistent rumbling noise after each flush (a minor issue, admittedly).
Facilities
9/10
the building contains a cocktail bar, a fun spot for evening relaxation. period artwork features heavily throughout the spaces. the hotel retains an interesting building structure with plenty of character.
Location

The room had some issues I noticed. The headboard was only partially attached to the wall! The carpet showed visible stains. I think a little more attention to detail would make a big difference. The receptionist was lovely and cute though.

Historic charm

I discovered a characterful historic building in a central location. My spacious suite had a large, well-appointed lounge and bedroom. Tea, coffee, and water were all provided, and a good range of toiletries awaited. I was granted a late check-out without issue.
The hotel lacks on-site parking, I had to spend a significant amount of time to find affordable options in the vicinity.
Rooms

The suite was spacious. It offered a large lounge area with comfortable seating and a separate bedroom. The design maintained the historic charm of the building with updated amenities, making it a restful retreat.
Facilities

The hotel features a cocktail bar aimed at younger guests and a restaurant which offers a convenient dining option. Although there is no lift available, staff members are readily available to help guests with luggage, adding a personal touch.

There wasn't on-site parking, nor was there free parking nearby. It took me over an hour to find a suitable parking option, and the suggested parking had only a 30-minute limit.
