historical charm, superb location
ideal location renovated space lovely bed distinct living room
i found the location ideal, placing me directly on the high street for convenient exploration. the room (a recently renovated space) offered privacy despite the activity outside. accessing it involved a bit of a walk through the building (lots of narrow stairs), but it was manageable. the room itself proved fantastic, with a lovely bed. a distinct living room area perfect for relaxation.
the toilet made a consistent rumbling noise after each flush (a minor issue, admittedly).

the building contains a cocktail bar, a fun spot for evening relaxation. period artwork features heavily throughout the spaces. the hotel retains an interesting building structure with plenty of character.

The room had some issues I noticed. The headboard was only partially attached to the wall! The carpet showed visible stains. I think a little more attention to detail would make a big difference. The receptionist was lovely and cute though.

I discovered a characterful historic building in a central location. My spacious suite had a large, well-appointed lounge and bedroom. Tea, coffee, and water were all provided, and a good range of toiletries awaited. I was granted a late check-out without issue.
The hotel lacks on-site parking, I had to spend a significant amount of time to find affordable options in the vicinity.

There wasn't on-site parking, nor was there free parking nearby. It took me over an hour to find a suitable parking option, and the suggested parking had only a 30-minute limit.

spacious room comfortable sleep appealing character
the room was spacious with a large television and tea and coffee making facilities. the massive bed ensured a comfortable sleep, and the bathroom was generously sized. i found the hotel's character appealing.. it definitely encouraged a return visit.
i discovered that there was no on-site parking, and finding nearby free parking proved difficult. it took me over an hour to locate a suitable parking option, castle carpark, costing £5.10 for the evening and up to 3 hours the next day.

The location was very central. Staff took my bags up a series of staircases for me. The room had a nice coffee and tea set up, I appreciated that.
The hotel has no lift. I had to use stairs.
